Abstract Drawing

Picture
This project was about creating an abstract drawing. There were certain rules we had to follow for doing this project, applying the teachings we learned about abstract drawing.  For creating it, I first drew some curvy lines, and then added triangles, rectangles, circles and other shapes to it. When I had the enough shapes I needed, I traced the lines with a black permanent marker. For painting the drawing, I had to apply the different ways of painting I had learned. This ways were pointillism, and gradient. With this techniques I painted in different colors and I also mixed different colors. If you use pointilism, there are many ways you can use it. Separating more tha dots from one another or making them really close is somthing that has a difference. In gradient also you can use it in  many ways. You can use gradient from one color to another or making it with inly once. I applied all the tecniques in different ways and greatly used my imagination for having so many different designs to fill in with.
I had a lot of fun making this drawing because I had to use my creativity to fill in all the spaces in the drawing in different ways. Also because there were many color used and that makes the drawing very happy and fun. I really liked doing this project and hope you like it too!

Symbolism Map

Picture
Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. After learning about symbolism and how many painters use it in different ways and during different eras, we started this project about symbolism. This project was about using symbols to represent ourselves. For doing this, we first had to list all the things that represent us, characteristics we each have, the ones that make us who we are, unique. We also had to put our hobbies and goals for the near future and for the the years to come.  My whole island is a volley ball and in each little island I have different things that represent me. One example is the highway, which is really a piano that symbolizes my sisters and me because we all play it. Another example is the hotel. It has the form of a camera because I love to take photos and I would liek to learn about it more deeply.
This project was fun but it also was a challengue because it was the first time we experienced with water colors and it was difficult to apply the forms of painting we were taught and making no mistakes. I could have improved on the watercolor usage. There are parts in my project where colors mix where they shouldn't and parts that are darker than others. I also could have been more careful when doing the tittle, because it isn't straight and the letters are not the same size. This detail is what makes my project look disorganized and kind of messy.

One Point Perspective Room

Picture
One of the last things we have learned this year is about perspective. Ms. Lopez taught us how to do one point perspective things and we drew a room applying our new knowledge.  In our room we had to include at least one door, two windows, and at least three pieces of furniture. I drew one door, two windows, a painting, a rug, and a table. The difficult part of drawing in one point perspective is that you have to know how to draw things paralell to others for them to be correct.
The hardest part of drawing objects in one point perspective was drawing the lamp because it is not an object that has edges. The edges of an object are like a key because from them are from where you connect with the vanishing point and make it three-dimensional. Another thing that is difficult to draw using one point perspective are the windows. Windows are hard to draw because sometimes you do not draw paralell lines and the windows are crooked. For me, in truth, drawing in one point perspective is easier than drawing faces or people because you only need to connect the edges of the objects into the vanishing point and then draw paralell lines. Drawing with perspective is something I really like because I am not good at drawing but using perspective is something I can do.
